Note - This Seller of Travel information is posted for your convenience only. It is up to you to read available information and decide whether you should use Nexion’s Seller of Travel number in the states permitted or obtain your own. Nexion Travel Group and Travel Leaders Network Marketing Participation

Currently all independent contractors selling travel, located in the following states must be registered as a Seller of Travel in that state in order to distribute marketing materials to clients of that state. To participate in Engagement or other Nexion/Travel Leaders Network marketing programs, all independent contractors located in these states you must have your valid Seller of Travel license number entered or your clients will not be included in their marketing programs.

Add your Seller of Travel ID Number in the Engagement Order Site

If you sell travel to a customer that lives in a state that requires a Seller of Travel ID Number (SOT), you will be happy to know you can enter the SOT number(s) once, and it will be included automatically in the agency contact information as part of your return address on direct mailers, and part of your contact detail on emails.

Regulatory requirements differ from state to state so we recommend that you thoroughly research what is required of your agency to satisfy the requirements of a Seller of Travel. You may wish to consult legal counsel on state/province seller of travel disclosures required in your Engagement promotions.

How to add your Seller of Travel ID to Engagement:

1. Log in to Agent Universe.

2. Click the Engagement Order Site link located in the Quick Links menu on the right side of the page.

3. In your Engagement account, click on the SOT Submission link in the left-hand navigation menu.

4. Agency Name, Sync ID, Agent Universe Username will be prepopulated. You only need to enter your Seller of Travel ID Number(s) in the box at bottom of the submission form.

5. Remember to click Submit. Please allow 24-48 hours for your SOT number to be populated in your Engagement marketing.

Accounting Transaction Rules

If you are located in the following states AND accept/process funds directly from consumers located in your state, then you must register in the following states,  If 100% of your transactions are processed via your client's credit card directly through travel suppliers, registration in these states may not be required.  

Note that collecting service fees or consulting fees from clients is considered accepting funds and therefore, being licensed is required in these states:

Use of Nexion's Seller of Travel Certificates

You may use Nexion's SOT number for California, Florida or Washington should you desire.  Doing so requires that you are verifying that you/your agency does not accept funds directly from consumers in those states. If you use Nexion's seller of travel number, you are verifying that you/your agency does not accept funds directly from consumers in those states. even if the supplier is paid directly by credit card.

Also, regardless of your location, if you do business with a consumer located in the following states AND accept funds directly from that consumer, you must register with that state. We strongly recommend that residents of these states do register with the state:
